Sarchi is a little town near to San Ramón that is well known for its handcrafts and finely made souvenirs. I had been wanting to visit it and spend some time poking around in its shops, and this morning I got to do just that! I was able to tag along on another class's field trip! =) We visited two sites and learned about both the history and process of production of several of the souvenirs.
We also visited the WORLD'S largest ox-cart, which is located in Sarchi. Hah! =D
The brightly colored patterning seen in many of these pictures is highly typical of both Sarchi and much of Costa Rica. =)
