A Trip To The Park

Today after class 5 classmates and I took the opportunity to do some hiking in a nearby park. The Los Angeles parque is only a 30 minute taxi ride from San Ramon and provided us with a fun filled (and wet) afternoon.
The weather was dreary and damp, but it made for a more dramatic and awe-inspiring hike through the lush rainforest. At one point we were all standing together thinking, we have never been in any place like this before! It was amazing! Some highlights for me were bird-watching with my friend Ellie (we say some stunningly gorgeous species and even one very large jurassic-park-looking bird), having my toes wet and soggy with mud (I wore my Chacos - best shoes ever!), discovering two massive leaf cutter ant hills, eating guavas, and just being out in the rain in a true rainforest.

Please enjoy. =)
